A jealous lover has killed another man for allegedly dating his girlfriend in Ogun State.
The lover, who was identified by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole as Alamu Aperin, is a resident of Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of the State.
Bankole, while addressing newsmen on Thursday said the incident occurred on April 17.
Aperin was said to have accosted his victim, Joshua Alao and accused him of dating one Omolaso, his girlfriend.
The CP said a fight had ensued between the Aperin and Alao, saying the deceased was stabbed on the right side of his chest.
Newspot learnt that Alao was rushed to a hospital, where he eventually died.
One Benjamin Ojoloko was said to have reported the case at Imeko divisional headquarters, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Ojoloko was quoted as saying that, “one Alamu Aperin Adekanbi accosted one Joshua Alao and accused him of dating his girlfriend, simply identified as Omolaso.
“Fight thereafter ensued between the duo, consequent upon which Alamu Aperin stabbed Joshua on the right side of his chest.”
He said, “the victim was rushed to the hospital but gave up the ghost while receiving treatment. The suspect was subsequently arrested.”
