…As Board’s PCA Wins Outstanding Spokesperson Award In Education Sector

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) stands tall at the 2025 Edition of the ‘National Spokespersons’ Awards’ (NSA)

During the well-attended event, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board’s Public Communications Advisor (PCA), emerged as the 2025 Outstanding Spokesperson Awardee, Education Sector. This recognition accorded the Board at the event may not be unconnected to the outstanding contributions of the avid communicator to the field of public relations in Nigeria.

Dr. Benjamin defeated two other contenders, Dr. Habib Yakoob, University of Abuja, and Mr. Lukman Temitope Omoniyi, University of Ilorin.

Dr. Benjamin’s emergence out of a total of 62 finalists drawn from a broad spectrum of institutions, agencies, and private sector organisations, who were shortlisted for the awards spanning 21 competitive categories, was no mean feat.

The event, which was organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in conjunction with Image Merchants Promotions Limited (IMPR), publishers of ‘PRNigeria’ and ‘Spokespersons’ Digest’, is a prestigious platform for celebrating excellence, innovation, and professionalism in the field of public communication across Nigeria’s public and private sectors.

The President, NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, and his wife presented the award to Dr Benjamin at the colourful event held on Thursday, 17th April, 2025, at the prestigious Abuja Continental Hotel. It was a night of glamour, and celebration as Nigeria’s top communicators across various sectors were honoured and singled out for recognition.

According to the organisers, the event was to showcase excellence in strategic communication and public affairs, reward individuals and institutions that have raised the bar in information management, brand representation and media engagement.

Other organisations honoured during the event included the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), National Drugs Law and Enforcement Agency(NDLEA), Nigeria Police Force (NPF), among others.

In his reaction, a highly-elated Benjamin thanked the organisers for founding him worthy of the award and said the recognition would spur him to do more in the service of humanity and the education sector in particular.

Dr. Benjamin thanked the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, for being a supportive Chief Executive, and an uncommon achiever, who made his job easier and laid the foundation for the exposure and recognition he had achieved across the country.

He reaffirmed the determination of the Board towards effective and efficient service delivery in line with its mandate of conducting seamless examinations as well as placement of suitably-qualified candidates in conjunction with tertiary institutions. He also reassured the public that JAMB would continue to innovate while leveraging relevant technology in its operational processes in line with global best practices
