The Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation (Board), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, has restated his commitment to providing affordable housing for staff as part of his staff welfare agenda to enhance productivity.

This was made known by Prof. Oloyede, while receiving the Managing Director, Federal Housing Authority (FHA), who was on a courtesy visit to the Board’s National Headquarters, Bwari.

He underscored the importance of providing affordable housing for the staff through legitimate means, stating that such move would reduce corruption and other vices in the public service.

To this end, he recalled that the management of the Board had held series of high-level meetings with the FHA with a view to exploring the possibility of partnering with the Authority to actualise this dream. In his response, the MD, FHA, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, commended the Registrar for his ongoing reforms in JAMB, which he said he had been following with keen interest.

He disclosed that he was in JAMB to apprise its management with the recently-launched President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mass housing initiative as part of his “Renewed Hope Agenda” to ensure the provision of affordable housing for Nigerians.

Speaking further, he recalled that the two organisations had held talks on the practicality of delivering carcasses of building structures as opposed to finished complexes.

He stated that carcasses are not only cheaper, more affordable, faster to complete but also customisable by the beneficiaries. He also recalled his stipulation that the plumbing works and electricals would be done by the FHA, while the facade would be same with other finished structures in any particular location.

He, therefore, urged the Board to be off-takers in all the FHA projects nationwide for the benefit of its outstation staff while urging the Board to tap into the legion of opportunities available through the patronage of its FHA Mortgage Bank, among other areas of collaboration open to JAMB.
