The 60th Anniversary of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), which is now known as AVCNU following the coming together of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Federal Universities (CVCNFU), the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian State Universities (CVCNSU) and Committee of Vice- Chancellors and Registrars of Nigerian Private Universities(CVCRPU) which had existed as independent bodies will long be remembered as an event where awards and commendations took centre stage on account of it being a conscious and strategic step for recognising those, who have significantly contributed to the cause of quality education.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), was among the distinguished awardees, who were honoured for their unwavering commitment to the values of equity and inclusiveness in the education sector.The prestigious event, which unfolded on the evening of Wednesday, 11th October, 2023, at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja, brought together a multitude of prominent personalities in the Nigerian education sector and beyond.
This gala night, replete with splendour and celebration, was a fitting tribute to the AVCNU’s remarkable journey over the past six decades.The Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities was effusive in its praise for JAMB under the leadership of Prof. Oloyede, as it recognised the Board’s untiring efforts at promoting quality education, equality, and inclusiveness within the nation’s educational system.
