Jadon Sancho has expressed his desire to leave Manchester United and Chelsea and return to Borussia Dortmund in the summer, according to reports in Germany.
Sancho is currently spending the season on loan at Chelsea after leaving United in the closing stages of the transfer window last summer.
The 25-year-old has shown flashes of promise since his move to Stamford Bridge but has struggled for consistency under Enzo Maresca.
As part of their loan agreement, Chelsea have an obligation to buy Sancho from United for £25 million, providing that they finish 14th or higher in the Premier League this season.
If they choose not to push ahead with signing the winger, Chelsea would need to pay United a £5m penalty clause.

It’s understood that Chelsea are intending to sign Sancho on a permanent deal at the end of the season, despite his fluctuating performance levels.

However, Bild reports that Sancho’s desire to return to the Bundesliga is ‘growing daily’ and that the winger has told his representatives that he wants to move back to Dortmund.
The report adds that Bayer Leverkusen would also be interested in a move for Sancho, if he becomes available.
Sancho made his senior breakthrough at Dortmund after deciding to leave Manchester City before making a first-team appearance for Pep Guardiola’s side in 2017.
The winger spent four years in Germany before his £73m transfer to United in 2021.
Sancho returned to Dortmund on a six-month loan last year but the Bundesliga club, who reached the Champions League final last season, were unable to finance a deal to re-sign the winger permanently from United.
