Nollywood actor, Femi Ogunrombi, known to many as Papa Ajasco, is reportedly dead.
The picture earlier published was not the original Papa Ajasco who is Abiodun Ayoyinka but his look alike.
Original Papa Ajasco Abiodun Ayoyinka
The Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture in a statement declared that the originally known Papa Ajasco, Abiodun Ayoyinka is not dead contrary to the news which pervaded the social media and some news outlets on Sunday.
The Public Affairs Officer, Lagos Council For Arts and Culture,Durojaiye Olanrewaju explaining that the dead was Awoyinka look-alike who took over his role as Papa Ajasco.
The statement on Sunday said Ayoyinka is hale and hearty, adding that the announced deceased is Femi Taiwo Ogunrounbi and not the veteran actor who started the role of Papa Ajasco when the comedy company was established
“The Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture will like to inform the public that veteran actor Mr. Abiodun Ayoyinka (Papa Ajasco) is hale and hearty. The person that died is not the former Papa Ajasco but the new one announced is Mr.Femi Taiwo Ogunronbi, his look alike who took over his role in Papa Ajasco and company”, Olanrewaju emphasized
A theatre practitioner, Husseini Shaibu, confirmed Papa Ajasco’s death via his Twitter handle on Sunday.
Shaibu wrote, “I have just been reliably informed that the ethnomusicologist, former Music Instructor with @NATIONALTROUPE and one-time stand-in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the popular @waleadenugaprod Comic Series ‘Papa Ajasco’ Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is DEAD!”

Ogunrombi was known for the famous role he played in the movie Papa Ajasco, a comic story based on the background of a family which comprises a womanizing father, a promiscuous mother and a lover boy son.
