In a viral video, he claimed that this measure would help address the ongoing depreciation of the Naira against the Dollar.

he passionately advocated for a directive from the President that any domiciliary account holding more than $ 1,000 should be converted to Nigerian currency.

He emphasized the need for resolute action, urging the President to seize or auction any funds exceeding the specified limit, replacing them with Naira.

In his plea, he called for equality, stating that even his own money and that of his brother, as well as former governors, should be subject to auction.

He stressed the importance of discouraging the storage of foreign currencies within Nigeria, suggesting that individuals should store their Dollars in America or their Pounds in London instead.

The viral video has sparked discussions and mixed reactions among Nigerians online.

Some have found merit in his proposal, believing that such a measure could stabilize the Naira.

Others, however have disagreed with is stance, questioning the  potential consequences of such an action on the economy and individuals’ financial stability.
