Jigawa State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Lawan Yunusa Danzomo has said that Inadequate funding was responsible for Educational decay in Nigeria.
Danzomo stated this while responding to questions from newsmen at a media engagement held at Manpower Development institutes, Dutse.
He said with the inception of the present administration, state Government had identified poor funding, poor educational infrastructures, inadequate classrooms, teachers and teaching aid Jus.
The commissioner explained that the Jigawa state Government had exceeded 26% United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declaration on education in it Jns 2021 appropriation to address the numerous challenges bedeviling the Sector.
Danzomo explained that the state Government had allocated 33% budget allocation to education which is above the UNESCO declaration to solved the problems.
He further revealed that over N20bn was expanded for the improvement of Primary and secondary education across the state within six years.
“According to him, “337 additional primary school were constructed and 130 additional Junior secondary schools were established.
“Over 6,679 classrooms were constructed and 185,086 students’ seats and 5,963 office furnitures were procured and distributed in the schools.
” 254 staff houses in hard to reach areas were constructed and 1,418 toilet blocks were also constructed,” he stated.
