Danny Miller is one of the 10 contestants taking part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this year, which comes after he recently quit his role in Emmerdale.

The star entered the grounds of Gwrych Castle alongside the likes of The Saturdays and Loose Women star Frankie Bridge and former BBC Breakfast host Louise Minchin.

But it quickly became clear Danny could make for some very entertaining viewing after he really didn’t enjoy his helicopter ride on Sunday night – narrowly avoiding throwing up three times.

Ahead of his upcoming Bushtucker Trial against Snoochie Shy, here’s everything you need to know about the actor who hails from the North West.

Who is Danny and how old is he?

Danny is 30-years-old and is a popular soap actor in ITV’s Emmerdale, which he confirmed he would be exiting just before his stint on I’m A Celebrity.

He’d been on the show on and off for 13 years, playing troubled character Aaron Dingle.

The actor’s most notable storylines as Aaron include his relationship with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley), his role in Katie Sugden’s (Sammy Winward) death, revealing he was sexually abused by his father as a child and reuniting with his half-sister Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele).

The character struggled to cope when his husband Robert was sent to prison for his part in the death of Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie) and ended up embarking on one-night stands and rocky romances.

His exit is sure to be a dramatic one after years of turbulent storylines, and fans will be saddened to see him go.

As well as his stints on Emmerdale, Danny has starred in Grange Hill, and as Sgt. Robert Waddington in Scott & Bailey.

Does Danny Miller have a partner and is he married?

Danny is in a relationship with his fiancée, midwife Steph Jones and has been for the past two years.

He proposed to his wife-to-be in a very romantic gesture during a trip to the Caribbean island of St Lucia.

The actor has just welcomed a baby named Albert with his fiancée, with the pair having been open about their fertility struggles before conceiving their first child.

They have been together since 2019 after first meeting in primary school as children, and dated when they were younger.

On Monday, Steph spoke to presenter Lorraine Kelly to discuss how she thinks her partner will fare in the show and why he decided to go on the show so soon after the birth of his newborn son.

She explained to the host: ‘It was a really difficult decision for him to decide whether to do it being so close to the birth.

‘But actually, when we sat down and discussed it as a family, it’s such a massive opportunity – the biggest show on the telly.

‘He’s always wanted to do it, it’s his favourite show to watch,’ she added.

Why did Danny Miller leave Emmerdale?

Danny opened up about his reasoning for leaving Emmerdale, explaining that he wants to spend more time with his newborn son after starring on the reality show.

‘I’ve always wanted to be a dad, and I’m now blessed with Albert and Steph and I’m in a position, when I was offered this show [I’m A Celebrity], to be able to try and see what else is out there and see where else my career path leads me,’ he said.

‘And if it doesn’t [lead anywhere], the money that the show gives you means that, if anything, I’ll just have the year off – me, Albert and Steph.

‘And for the sake of sacrificing three weeks, he won’t remember but I certainly will. It was a decision that made me think, “Well, I’m going to do it because of the security it will give us in the future”.’

Steph also weighed in on Danny’s decision to quit Emmerdale for I’m A Celeb, telling her: ‘That was one of the reasons why he did it because this is the biggest opportunity of his career.

‘He’s been in Emmerdale for 13 years and he wanted to open the door maybe to different career paths,’ Steph said.

‘It means he’s got longer time off with Albert next year rather than working Monday to Friday, seven till seven,’ she revealed.

Is Danny Miller on Instagram?

Yes, Danny is on Instagram on the handle @danny_b_miller and has 488k followers on the social media site.

He regularly posts pictures with his fiancée Steph, and has flooded his feed with snaps and videos of his gorgeous young son.

His family will be looking after his account whilst he is in the castle.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
