The Inspector General of Police IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, has expressed anger over the attack by soldiers on the Adamawa State Police Command headquarters in Yola, which resulted to the killing of an Inspector, Jacob Daniel.

Addressing officers and men of the Command during an official visit to the state, the evidently angry IGP said, “Inspector Jacob Daniel was the officer on duty at the Quarter Guard of this headquarters on Wednesday last week when he was murdered during an invasion by some recalcitrant soldiers.”

Likening the attack to that which bandits and terrorists are known for, the IGP said it was most unwarranted.

According to him, the soldiers carried out the attack like Boko Haram terrorists.

“They came like bandits, they acted in a manner representative of Boko Haram,” he said.

He however urged the men and officers of the Command not to be demoralised, stressing that the authorities would ensure justice for the killed Inspector.

Egbetokun also appealed to all members of the Police Force serving in joint security operations with other security agents to remain committed and go about their normal duties.

“What happened has happened and I am sure the military is also not happy about it. We remain partners for the good of our country. Let your morale remain high,” he told his officers and men.
