The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Joe Ajaero in an interview with Guardian, said he was questioned over alleged terrorism financing involving a British national, Andrew Wynne.
He said officers of the Department of State Services (DSS) also grilled him over the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests that took place in August.
The Department of State Services (DSS) has released Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), after him at Abuja airport and whisked him to their Headquarters in Abuja.
He was released on bail at about 11pm on Monday but his international passport was seized.
Ajaero was on his way to a Trade Union Congress (TUC) event in the UK He added that the police officers also grilled him over the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protests that took place in August. he was arrested at about 7am on Monday.
He said the police had also summoned Ajaero and NLC’s Secretary-General, Emmanuel Ugboaja, for further questioning later in the month.
One of the labour leaders who simply answered Richard said ” We are back to the era of miĺitary regime when opposition leaders were being chased all over the place and detained for months. Instead for our leaders to listen to the cries of the masses and squarely solve their problems they are resorting to gestapo tactics that always lead to self destruction. “
