Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, the tournament has been on hold and has now been revamped to get it done and dusted this season.

The final knockout rounds will be held in a mini ‘World Cup’ format held in Germany in August.

It will now be a straight knockout tournament and all ties will be single-leg fixtures, once the round of 16 has been played.

The matches for the last 8 onwards will be split between the following four venues: Stadion Koln, Duisburg’s MSV Arena, The Dusseldorf Arena and Arena AufSchalke in Gelsenkirchen.

The teams will first need to be drawn into their respective ties and that will happen this week.

Inter Milan vs Getafe and Sevilla vs Roma are yet to get their round of 16 matches under way.

There are three British teams involved – Manchester United, Wolves and Rangers.

United are leading 5-0 from the first leg away against LASK, while Wolves go into their second leg at home against Olympiacos level at 1-1 on aggregate.

Rangers have it all to do to reach the next stage, with Steven Gerrard’s side 3-1 down against Leverkusen and playing away in the second leg.
