Hon. Oriyomi Adewunmi Onanuga member of the House of Representatives is dead.
Onanuga representing Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency died during a brief illness. Aged 60 she served as the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives .
As at the time of writing this report no official statement of her death has been relessed .
Born on December 2, 1965, Onanuga was a notable politician and entrepreneur. She had held the position of Deputy Chief Whip in the Nigerian House of Representatives since 2023.
Her journey began in Hammersmith, London, where she was born to Nigerian parents. In 2019, she successfully contested for a seat in the House of Representatives under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Onanuga also served as the chairperson of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development, championing key issues related to gender equality and societal welfare.
