The National President, Middle Belt Youth Development Organization, MYDEVO, Comrade Chris Aba, has pleaded with Nigerians to have faith in the administration of President Bola Tinubu despite the current challenges facing the country.
Aba, in a New Year message applauded youths, stakeholders in the North Central and all the leaders for their support for the President in 2024, congratulating them for making it to 2025.
In the statement released by the Director, Media and Publicity of MYDEVO, Prince David Odama, Aba noted that the opportunity to witness the new year was worthy of giving thanks to Almighty God.
While calling for fervent prayers to God to give Tinubu and his cabinet the wisdom to reposition Nigeria, he stressed the need for all Nigerians to remain resilient and committed to the realization of the dreams of the nation’s founding fathers.
Aba pointed out that Nigeria has not been without its challenges, adding that “what is required is for all to be committed to the unity and peaceful coexistence for national development”.
Although the MYDEVO leader acknowledged the current hardship being faced by Nigerians, he, however, called for more patience, assuring that “the current reforms of President Bola Tinubu would yield positive and beneficial result in the years ahead”.
He noted that with the collective support of all the citizens for the present government, the country would soon overcome its challenges and take its rightful place among the comity of nations.
“I strongly believe that what we are currently passing through will soon be over if all hands are on deck under President Bola Tinubu’s led administration to make sure that the Renewed Hope Agenda is actualized in all sectors of the country thereby making Nigeria a nation to be proud of by all citizens,” he stressed.
Aba also appealed for massive support of all the governors, especially those of the North Central and other elected and appointed and leaders within the geopolitical zone, saying everything was being done to address the hardship inherited by the Tinubu administration and enhance quality of life in the country.
He equally stressed the need for more funding of sporting activities which he said is the rallying and melting point for the unity, peace and development of the country.
According to him, MYDEVO was doing everything within its capability to ensure that the youths, whom he said are vulnerable in the hands of those he described as enemies of progress, are engaged in productive ventures that could make them useful to themselves and the society.
He added that the organization, in its commitment towards ensuring the success of the government and reduce youth restiveness, is staging a “Tinubu Unity Youth Sports Competition where youth will compete as its contribution towards enhancing the unity and peaceful co-esistence of Nigeria, improve the wellbeing of rural dwellers and combat insecurity at the grassroots level”.
While emphasizing the need for governors to be more committed to the development of sports sector, the MYDEVO president said a New Standing orders would be put in place towards youth participation in governance in various communities across the Middle Belt region and the country at large.
He urged the youth to embrace a better tomorrow by shunning all vices such as armed robbery, banditry, kidnapping and killings, and join hands with the government in the fight against insecurity in the country.
