Kane started the game at Werder Bremen ahead of Jamal Musiala and flanked by Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman.
It took no time at all for the England captain to make an impact as he produced a fine assist for Sane, flicking the ball into his path inside his own half, allowing the former Manchester City man to burst through on goal and score after just four minutes.
Kane missed a couple of chances but opened his account for Bayern after 74 minutes, played in by the excellent Alphonso Davies and finding the corner of the net, albeit via a slight deflection.
The former Tottenham superstar got a touch of cramp late on and was substituted, with Sane scoring again and Mathys Tel really adding gloss to the result as Bayern ran out 4-0 winners.
‘It was fantastic, there’s been a lot of talk up and build up to this game
I just couldn’t wait to get out there and get started,’ Kane told Sky Sports.
‘It started well with the goal early on, but it was a tough game. We created some good chances, just lacked the final product.
‘Overall, the perfect start, now I’m looking forward to next week and to the next one. Really happy, we’ve got a fantastic squad and I’m excited to be a part of it.’
The 30-year-old had a frustrating first outing for Bayern Munich on Saturday in the Super Cup as he came off the bench and barely touched the ball in a 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig.
However, that will quickly be forgotten as Bayern race to the top of the Bundesliga in the opening game of the campaign.
Kane will experience a home Bundesliga game for the first time next Sunday (27 August) as Bayern host Augsburg.
