The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has petitioned the Department of State Services, DSS, and copied all security agencies in the country on possible planned attacks on innocent citizens, especially the electorates at the March 18 Governorship/State Assembly elections in the state.

The party called on the security agencies to conduct extensive search on the PDP governorship candidate’s residence in Gusau and other of his facilities to uncover arms and ammunitions allegedly kept to be used by thugs during the elections.

According to a statement issued by the State APC publicity secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, the PDP planned the attacks with the intent to either truncate the elections due to their fear of losing the elections.

The party recalled that the PDP on the instructions of its gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare, last year, attacked innocent citizens and killed one person with many others hospitalized at the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau, the State capital.

The party, through its lawyers, cautioned that the matter needs urgent response to prevent the breakdown of law and order during the polls that may escalate to other parts of the country.

“The APC divulged that it received credible intelligence report that the PDP is currently using a serving army officer and a renown notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji who have both assured the PDP that they will make sure its candidates especially, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare emerge winner of the elections or creates havoc.

“Copies of the petition have all been received and acknowledged by the security agencies in the state,” the statement read.
