Group donates books to foundation

The University of Cambridge and Innmedics Global Pharm Limited of India have donated 200,000 text and workbooks worth N250m and medical consumables worth over N8m to the PhilipAnna Foundation of Nigeria.

A statement by PhilipAnna Foundation said that the donations were made in honour of Dame Anna Kolawole, who was described as a visionary leader who used her leadership skills to drive development in the communities where she lived and worked during her lifetime.

It read that in different email exchanges between the donors and the recipient, Business Development Manager West Africa Taiwo Ayoola, and Finance Manager, Cambridge University Press & Assessment Nigeria, Yewande Oni, remarked that they were delighted to be partners with the PhilipAnna Foundation and were thus making the donations in kind to the areas covered by the humanitarian efforts of the Foundation.

It read “We want to offer our donation in kind, in books for pupils in the areas your humanitarian outreach covers.”

On its part, Managing Director for Innmedics, Mr Jighar Mehta said that the expensive nature of health made it imperative for companies like his to partner with the PhilipAnna Foundation.

Member of the Board of Trustees, Mrs Oluwakemi Ajakaiye, Managing Trustee, Mrs Temitope Phillips, and South-West Coordinator of the PhilipAnna Foundation Gboyega Kehinde,  expressed their gratitude to the donors.
