Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia is now a done deal with one of the most eagerly anticipated fights in boxing set to take place next year.

An agreement between the two undefeated Americans and their respective camps was confirmed on Thursday with ‘Tank’ set to fight another opponent in January.

Should Davis pass his New Year test against an opponent still to be named, a showdown against Garcia will take place likely in April.

‘I’ll be back in the ring 7 January stay tuned for more details! After that it is me and Ryan signed sealed delivered, done deal!’ Davis wrote on Twitter.

Garcia wrote: ‘I’m so pumped this fight is finally in place — I want it more than anything right now. I’ve put in the work, I’m at the prime of my career, and I know I’m going to be the biggest boxer in the world. That legacy starts today.

‘Boxing NEEDS this fight right now. It’s time for us to get back to what made this sport so great for the fans: Glamorous fights in places like Las Vegas, grudge match storylines, and most importantly — the best fighting the best.’

Talks to get one of the biggest fights in boxing on have been hampered by Garcia and Davis fighting for rival broadcast networks and promoters.

Davis is represented by Mayweather Promotions and Al Haymon with his fights broadcast on Showtime.

Garcia meanwhile is tied with Golden Boy Promotions and has a PPV deal with DAZN.

But an agreement has finally been met with reports suggesting the fight will be a joint venture between DAZN and Showtime.

Showtime chief Stephen Espinoza wrote on Twitter: ‘Done deal. It’s on. All credit to Tank an Ryan. Lots of obstacles along the way but they both stayed the course to give the fans the fight they want.’

Joe Markowski, executive vice president of DAZN, also praised both fighters.

‘As we’ve always said, DAZN will look to broadcast the biggest fights in boxing. We’ve worked tirelessly with our friends at Golden Boy, Showtime and Team Davis on a deal structure that suits all parties for Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia.

Everyone at DAZN Boxing is thrilled that an agreement in principle has been reached between the parties. That agreement is subject to contract, which are yet to be exchanged.
