The Osun State government has unveiled an infrastructure expenditure plan amounting to One Hundred and Fifty-Nine Billion Naira, as stated by Governor Ademola Adeleke. This comprehensive budget encompasses a range of projects that extend beyond the major initiatives highlighted during the Governor’s recent address.
According to Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the spokesperson for the Governor, the infrastructure plan includes vital projects that were not explicitly mentioned in the Governor’s speech. These supplementary projects, which include bridges, neighborhood roads, ongoing interventions in the water sector, and additional health sector projects beyond primary healthcare centers, contribute significantly to the overall expenditure.
While the key projects featured in the Governor’s address account for approximately One Hundred and Eleven Billion Naira, the remaining Forty-Eight Billion Naira is allocated to general infrastructure initiatives. Rasheed clarified that there is no discrepancy in the budget calculations or any manipulation of financial figures, emphasizing that the Governor focused on presenting only the major projects to maintain brevity.
For those interested in a detailed breakdown of the infrastructure plan, the complete information is accessible at the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure. Members of the public are encouraged to reach out to the ministry at the state secretariat for further inquiries.
This infrastructure initiative aims to enhance the living conditions of residents and improve essential services across Osun State.
