Gareth Southgate has named his England squad for the quartet of Nations League matches in June against Hungary (twice), Germany and Italy.

It is a squad of few surprises, with Jarrod Bowen earning his first call-up after a thoroughly impressive season for West Ham United in the Premier League and Europa League.

Leicester City full-back James Justin may be the biggest shock inclusion, with the 24-year-old hoping to win his first cap.

Manchester United pair Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho have been left out, but can have few complaints after forgettable seasons with the Red Devils.

Kalvin Phillips is back after an injury-hit season with Leeds United, while Fikayo Tomori has earned a place after an impressive campaign with AC Milan as they won the Serie A title.

On Bowen, Southgate said: ‘Consistently strong performances, I think we were certainly thinking about involving him in March before he got injured.

‘He’s a goal threat, direct, his journey is really interesting in terms of the experiences he’s had.’
