GAFCON G25 Mini Conference Kicks Off in Plano, Texas

The Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON), known as G25, commenced a significant mini-conference in Plano, Texas, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. This pivotal gathering is attended by 170 Anglican leaders, including Primates, Advisors, Guarantors, Trustees, Regional Secretaries, Branch Chairs, Network Coordinators, and esteemed observers, along with founding leaders and family members.

Founded in 2008, GAFCON is a global movement within the Anglican Communion dedicated to preserving and promoting what it considers the biblical and traditional Anglican faith. The Texas summit aims to seek God’s wisdom and strengthen the Church’s mission worldwide.

The conference opened with a powerful Eucharist service, setting a spiritual tone for the days ahead. Delegates are engaging in discussions centered on the mission to gather, guard, and grow the Church, actively seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit in every conversation and decision.

Wednesday proved to be a day filled with worship, fellowship, and mission, deepening the participants’ commitment to strengthening the Church collectively. Morning prayers were led by Bishop Paul Donison, the General Secretary of GAFCON, followed by a reflective panel discussion on the formation of GAFCON, tracing its journey from its inception in Jerusalem in 2008 to the present day. The afternoon sessions fostered deep engagement with themes of Gathering Authentic Anglicans and Guarding God’s Gospel, featuring impactful discussions and small group consultations.

Beyond the formal sessions, the atmosphere has been enriched by shared laughter, profound conversations, and a strong sense of unity in Christ. Participants have fervently prayed, expressing gratitude for God’s work throughout the years and looking forward to what lies ahead.

As the conference approaches its conclusion on Friday, March 14, the final day will begin at 9 AM with morning prayer, featuring a sermon by Bishop Paul Donison. A seminar titled “Our Future” will take place at 10:30 AM, followed by the Closing Eucharist at 3 PM, with the Most Revd Henry Ndukuba, Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria, as the preacher.

This gathering reflects the commitment of Anglican leaders to uphold their faith and mission in an ever-changing world.
