The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Professor Olusola Kehinde has commended the university community for their contribution to the development of the institution.
He disclosed that the university emerged in second position out of Nigeria’s 258 universities and 26th best in Sub-Saharan Africa in the recently-released 2023 inaugural Times Higher Education’s, Sub-Saharan Africa university rankings
Professor Kehinde made this known in a statement made available to our correspondent in Akure, Ondo State capital. He also gave kudos to all stakeholders in the agricultural university for the feat.
The don explained that the ranking highlighted the strongest universities in Sub-Saharan Africa across a comprehensive range of “performance indicators covering five pillars: ‘access and fairness’, ‘Africa impact’, ‘teaching skills’, ‘student engagement’ and ‘resources and finance’.”
“The Sub-Saharan Africa University rankings, produced in partnership with Mastercard Foundation, ranks 88 universities from 17 countries in the region,” he noted
While congratulating members of the university community on the achievement, the FUNAAB boss said he was hopeful that “the feat will serve as catalyst for more dedication to duty.”
