The 20-year-old arrived at Brighton form Boca Juniors in January and is being touted to be a big hit in the Premier League.
The left-back has already won two caps for Argentina and Fantasy Premier League managers have certainly taken notice of the youngster’s talents.
At the time or writing, a hefty 23.1 per cent of FPL managers have Barco in their teams, but that could be about to dramatically plummet.
Transfer expert César Luis Merlo reports that Sevilla are in talks with the Seagulls to bring Barco in on a season-long loan.
Brighton are not looking to sell the Argentinian, but are willing to let him head out on loan and gain experience with the La Liga side, with the player also open to the switch.
Barco was on the bench for Brighton’s Premier League opener at Everton last weekend, but wasn’t brought on in the impressive 3-0 victory.
New manager Fabian Hurzeler enjoyed the ideal start to life in the Premier League with the dominant victory at Goodison Park and the performance did not suggest that he is likely to change his team around any time soon.
Jack Hinshelwood started the match at left-back, with Kaoru Mitoma ahead of him down that flank.
The German manager of the Seagulls is just 31 years old, but James Milner, seven years his senior, says he has quickly earned the respect of the squad.
‘It could have been a problem if the manager didn’t have that presence but he came in day one clear about what he wants,’ said the former England man.
‘You don’t even think about his age then. He’s been brilliant and authoritative. He does fantastic team talks getting the lads fired up and is methodical as well.
‘He hasn’t ripped up what we did before. He recognises there was a lot of good already. I’m sure he has been asked a million questions but age is just a number. You are talking to somebody who was playing in the Premier League at 16 and still playing at 38. It’s irrelevant if you’re good enough for the job.’
