Three-time Premier League winner Yaya Toure is training with League Two side Leyton Orient. Yes, you heard right!
The O’s tweeted pictures of the former Manchester City and Barcelona star, 37, in their training kit on Friday.
The club, who finished 17th in their first season back in England’s fourth tier this term, said: “Who have we got here then?
“It’s only three-time Premier League, Champions League, LaLiga and African Cup of Nations winner Yaya Toure.
“There he is look, in his Leyton Orient top at training this morning. Yaya Toure lads. Bloody hell.”
Toure wrote himself into City folklore with a glorious eight-year spell at the Etihad after joining from Barcelona for £24million in 2010.
He left England for Olympiakos, before most recently featuring for Chinese side Qingdao Huanghai.
Before moving to China last year, Toure denied rumours that he had retired from football.
“There has been a lot of confusion about my future recently,” he said. “I want to make it clear here that I love football and I’m still in contention to play for a few more years.
“Yes, I’m starting to prepare myself for coaching badges but full time coaching is not what I’m thinking now.
“I am now ready and focused to take new challenges in playing football!
“And don’t worry once the time has come, I will announce my retirement personally and officially by myself!!”
