Three high-profile managers are in the frame to replace England boss Gareth Southgate, although the FA are keen for him to remain in charge.
Southgate’s contract runs until after Euro 2024 but the 52-year-old admitted after England’s World Cup exit that he was considering his future.
Southgate’s England reached the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup and the final of Euro 2020. The Three Lions impressed in Qatar before suffering a quarter-final defeat to defending champions France.
Asked about his future as England boss after the latest World Cup exit, Southgate said he will take his time before making any decisions.
‘I think after every tournament we have sat and reviewed and reflected,’ he told ITV Sport. ‘It needs a bit of time to make sure everybody makes the right decisions.’
The FA believe Southgate has done a fine job in turning England into contenders on the global stage and want him to remain in charge until at least the end of Euro 2024.
But they privately acknowledge that Southgate may decide to move on, with FA technical director John McDermott set to be tasked with recommending his successor if it comes to that.
German manager Tuchel won the Champions League during his 18-month spell at Chelsea and has been out of work since being sacked by the Stamford Bridge club earlier this season.
Pochettino has managed Premier League clubs Tottenham and Southampton – as well as Paris Saint-Germain – and has previously admitted he would be open to taking over as England boss.
Rodgers has been a mainstay in British football for over a decade, having managed the likes of Leicester, Celtic, Liverpool and Swansea since 2010.
Holland, meanwhile, has been Southgate’s assistant manager at England since 2016 and spent more than a decade at Chelsea before his role with the Three Lions.
Former Manchester United and England defender Gary Neville insisted he wanted Southgate to stay on after the Three Lions’ World Cup exit.
Speaking on ITV Sport, he said: ‘I would love Gareth to stay on for another two years and I would love him to stay on beyond that, whether it’s as the coach or in another role the FA design.
‘In the last 10 years we’ve won youth tournaments, we’ve won a women’s tournament, we’ve got to a men’s final, we’re playing really well and have got good technical players.
‘England is in a pretty good place. We have gone out of tournaments in the past 25 years in disgrace but we’ve got a great future and he is a big part of that.’
