Alhaji Bako Abdullahi a former Acting Chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission ICPC and two term board member of the Commission is dead.
News of his passing away was broken to newspot by the former Chairman of ICPC Mr Ekpo Nta.
Alhaji Bako was said to have breathed his last in Egypt on Saturday 13 August 2022. Cause of his death is not known but sources said he traveled to Egypt to seek medical attention for his ailment but could not reach any hospital before he passed on.
His remains had been interred in Egypt in line with Muslim tenets .
Alhaji Bako, a current 2-term Member of the ICPC Board, is a lawyer, Notary Public and Fellow of Charted Institute of Arbitration. He represented the North–East geopolitical zone. He was first appointed a board member of the commission in 2009, and had his appointment renewed for a second term in 2014.
Mr Ekpo Nta, the former Chairman, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Offences Commission (ICPC), now Chairman National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission (NSIWC) has paid a condolence visit to the residence of the late Alhaji Bako in Abuja.
Mr Nta who served for six years as Chairman of ICPC handed over to late Alhaji Bako in September 2017 as Acting Chairman.
