On Sunday I posted an article on the Golden Statue at OAU Campus at Ife. By Monday I got to know the article has gone viral on the WhatsApp and some other platforms. This was evident by the icon – “forwarded many times” attached, just within 24 hours.
That Monday I began to get suspicious calls and chats requesting information about my person.
This is the background as far as I can remember.
On the night of Monday 21st of October I went to sleep around 10.40pm at the end of the day’s work after Family Prayer. I woke up exactly 3.00 am to begin my work as usual.
On getting to my Study I discovered that certain items, my writing tools, were missing. The Laptop, an Android phone used for WhatsApp chats and writing and a Star 200 Larger Capacity Powerbank have been removed.
I left these same items on the Table by 10.40pm when I finished work the previous night.
The strangest thing is there was no break-in, the doors to the house and barricades were firmly locked and no window was broken. The glasses were intact and the burglary too. Not a single of the more than 4000 books, journals, commentaries etc in the Study was removed. The several shelves were untouched except these three items that I used to write.
And this happened just between the hours of 10.40pm and 3.00 am this morning. The roofs were not broken, the car outside was not damaged and even the security locks and burglary were not tampered with. Yet, the items mysteriously disappeared. In a lifetime of score years I have not seen anything like this.
I also observed that the security guards who usually patrolled the areas every night did not show up last night because we didn’t hear their whistle or perhaps it was oversight.

In the meantime I urge you to be steadfast and unmoveable in the course of Truth. Evil is real in our nation and especially at this time. But Light will ultimately prevail over Darkness and the Banner of Victory shall be lifted on the Course of Truth at the appropriate time.
In the laptop now missing are several manuscripts, documents and research materials of many years being prepared for publication. This is the most painful of all.
The Forces of Reaction have made my case difficult but not impossible.
They took my writing tools but not my life or the lives of my wife or children. I can still write.
Glory to God.
I am unbowed. I am unmoved. I am unshaken and unshakable. They took my writing tools but not my brain or active mind or soul.
I will strive to recover or replace these items soon as the case may be and work will commence.

Evil is real in Nigeria but Truth will conquer at last.
