A renowned first Professor of Plant Physiology at the University of Lagos Theophilus Oremade Orebamjo is dead
The family which announced his passage to the University of Lagos few days ago said Professor Orebamjo passed on to glory due to old age.
Born on May 19, 1932 into the family of Mr. James Oso Orebamjo and Madam Dorcas Adebomeyin in Odofin Compound of Ogere-Remo, Ogun State, Professor Orebamjo died on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
The Nonagenarian was the first Professor of Plant Physiology and Head of Department of Botany (1980- 1984).
The accomplished intellectual whose brilliant contributions transcends the academia, is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
In its short tribute, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade T. Ogunsola, FAS,said “on behalf of the entire University of Lagos community commiserates with the Orebamjo family and prays for the repose of the soul of Professor Theophilus Oremade Orebamjo.”
