All roads lead to Owo on Friday 23 February 2024 as the final burial rites for Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu wind up.
Newspot monitoring the rites has it on good information that the President of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be leading who is who to Owo for the funeral Service at St Andrews Church, Imola Street, Owo.
The last time President Tinubu attended similar funeral service was for Aketi mother’s burial on 22 November 2022 in the same church. Many top government officials and captain of industry will grace the occasion.
Aketi was a staunch member of Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion. He had used his influence to bless the church in every capacity to help in the spread of the gospel.
As a result the head of the Church Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria Most Revd Henry Ndukuba will be leading a good number of Archbishops, Bishops and priests at funeral service. The host Bishop Rt Revd Dr Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi is putting finishes touches for a seamless service. Until his death Aketi was the Chancellor of Diocese of Owo.
Leading the governors to Owo is the Chairman of Governors Forum AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Kwara State Governor. He was at the Akure Stadium on Wednesday 21 February 2024 to receive Aketi’s body as it arrived in Ondo State. It is expected former and serving state governors will be jostling for seats in the church.
The legal luminaries are not left out as the President of the Nigeria Bar Association Yakubu Maikyau will be at the head of lawyers to the service.
After the service, his body will move for interment, which is strictly for immediate family members. There will be a reception at Mydas Hotel and Resort, Ikare Road, by 1 pm.
