President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, November 23 unveiled the redesigned Naira Notes.
The president unveiled the new N200, N500, and N1,000 denominations as proposed by the CBN before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the State House, Abuja, this morning.
Photos of the redesigned notes that have circulated online show that the denominations have a similar appearance to the previous look, but with a slight color difference.
Nigerians have now taken to social media to share their opinions on photos of the Naira notes currently making the rounds, with the majority expressing disappointment in the new design.
Reacting, a Twitter user @Adewale Adetona wrote, “They just added Snapchat filter to the existing Naira notes to make the new ones.”
Comedian, Basket Mouth wrote, “They clearly used a Snapchat filter for this.”
Nigerian lawmaker, Shehu Sani wrote, “If it’s Naira colour, the CBN should have just engage Snapchat”.
@EssienTruth, “What’s this? Is this the redesign? Making it look blurry and archaic? Ofcourse, it’s suicidal to expect anything good or exceptional about this government.”
@drpenking, “These people just dipped the old Naira notes inside Hypo bleach 3 times, made some incantations and poured libation, then called it new Naira notes. God will judge Emefiele.”

Someone needs to go explain what ‘to redesign’ something actually means.
My three month old niece who can barely keep her neck straight would do a far better job than this.
All the did was pour red, green and blue on the old notes.

What exactly did they redesign here? These things look like the toner or ink has finished in the printer. They must be more to this nonsense. I was expecting to see a more attractive/digital design.
