Senate President Godwin Akpabio has urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, to ignore Senator Ireti Kingibe amid their verbal altercation.
Akpabio described Senator Kingibe as a distraction, which Wike must ignore.
He gave the advice while flagging off the construction of the Kugbo Bus Terminal in the Nyanya area of the FCT.
According to Akpabio: “A lot of people will say things. I saw a legislator on television mentioning that she was not carried along. Well, she is a member of the Senate, and when a decision is taken, she is bound by that decision.
“Please ignore every distraction and be rest assured that no matter what you do, not everyone will praise you. Others will still try to find faults.”
Kingibe had accused Wike of only focusing on infrastructural projects that have less impact on the residents of FCT.
She said the minister is not taking into consideration the needs of FCT residents.
Angered by her comments, Wike warned that Kingibe would not return to the Senate in 2027.
