The family of four-year-old Mirabel Ilemoh, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (childhood cancer), is desperately seeking N5,914,610 million for treatment.
The treatment is for chemotherapy to save little Mirabel who is currently in a sick bed.
Research shows that acute lymphoblastic leukemia is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells.
It is the most common childhood cancer. It occurs when a bone marrow cell develops errors in its DNA.
Through a non-profit organization, Gifting Volunteer Network, GVN, the family is calling on the public to save their daughter.
The president of GVN, Mr. Belele David disclosed that Mirabel is among the many critical cases his organization had helped through public intervention.
According to the medical report from Irrua Specialist Hospital in Benin, Edo State, Mirabel was diagnosed on May 28, 2023, with the disease.
“Mirabel is one of the many cases we have handled over the years. This little girl is suffering and needs urgent help.
“As an organization that provides visibility for needy patients in critical condition, we try to build a personal and trusted bond between patients and donors while ensuring complete transparency,” the GVN president added.
Also speaking, the patient’s mother, Mrs Gloria Ilemoh lamented the family’s ordeal.
“Mirabel is the first of our two children. She has been in a sick bed for months now. It hurts to see your child suffer, and you can’t help,” she cried out.
She continued that neither she nor her husband have the wherewithal to cater to the medical bill.
“My husband earns N27,000 as a salesman in a company.
“We lack the financial capacity to carry this burden.
“We are using this opportunity to appeal for media awareness for my daughter who needs assistance,” she said.
She said all donations can be sent to: Acct number: 0834080086; Acct Name: Ilemoh Ochuwa Mirabel; Bank: Gtb.
