Fake spiritualist dupes two women of N5.4millon in Ogun


One Rukayat Ibrahim has been swindled to the tune of N4,775,000 by a self-styled spiritualist, who claimed to have solutions to her daughter’s spiritual problems.

He was also said to have obtained by false pretence, the sum of N700,000 from one Oluwaseun Ibrahim, making it a total of N5.4 million.

Ogun police command said the four suspects have been apprehended.


According to the State police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the woman has written a petition to the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, saying, “she was defrauded of four million, seven hundred and seventy five thousand Naira by one Abdul Salami Yakub, who pretended to have spiritual solutions to her daughter’s problem.”

Acting on the petition, the Commissioner of Police was said to have directed the monitoring team to go after the suspect, who reportedly “confessed being a fraudster” after his arrest.

Newspot learnt that in the course of investigation, another victim, “one Oluwaseun Ibrahim came up with a complaint that the suspect had earlier duped her of seven hundred thousand Naira, which the suspect also confirmed.”
