Manchester United legend Roy Keane has slammed David de Gea for the goalkeeper’s mistake in their 3-1 win over Everton in the FA Cup on Friday night.
Keane said only a goalkeeper who had a few drinks shortly before a football match would make such a blunder.
The Spain International made a howler of an error in the first half of their FA Cup game against struggling Frank Lampard’s side which led to a goal for the visiting Toffees.
De Gea allowed a cross from Everton’s Neal Maupay go through his legs, with Conor Coady tapping in.
“It’s a shocking mistake,” Keane told ITV at half-time. “It’s like Carry On football. Looks as if he’s had a few drinks.
“Shocking mistake. It’s almost as if the goalkeeper has been sent off and an outfield player has gone in goal. He just doesn’t know what to do. Horrendous mistake.”
