In two seasons in charge of Manchester United, the Dutchman has won the League Cup and FA Cup, although it has not been so good elsewhere.
The Red Devils finished eighth in the top flight last season, their worst ever Premier League campaign, while they crashed out of the Champions League as they finished bottom of their group which included Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
However, Ten Hag, who signed a contract extension at Old Trafford this summer, has been keen to point out that he has put silverware in the trophy cabinet.
‘Of course [I feel stronger after winning the FA Cup],’Ten Hag told The Times. ‘This club didn’t win trophies, before I came, for six years.
‘In two years, after Guardiola, we won the most trophies in English football. So we are in a strong position.
‘Look, we can beat every opponent. Not one time, more than one time against City and also against Liverpool.’
Former Tottenham and Wolves midfielder O’Hara is not on board with what Ten Hag was saying, clearly not arguing with the facts, but certainly with the suggestions that United have only been second to City since his arrival.
‘I mean, we’ve got to start all this again with Man United? He’s done alright. He’s won some trophies,’ O’Hara said on talkSPORT.
‘They’re Man United. They’ve spent about £800million. So they’re entitled to win some!
‘Is he having a laugh? They finished eighth didn’t they last season? It was the worst season they’ve ever had in Premier League history.’
