Rashford has been in trouble with his employers in recent days after enjoying a boozy couple of days in Belfast this week, so boozy that he missed training on Friday as a result.
The England forward has been fined two weeks’ wages for his misdemeanour, worth a hefty £650,000, and he is likely to be at best on the bench against Wolves on Thursday night.
However, Rashford is expected to be quickly back in Ten Hag’s side, and may well feature at Molineux.
That is in stark contrast to Sancho who is now on loan at Borussia Dortmund after a public falling out with Ten Hag, sparked by the Dutchman’s comments over the winger’s performances in training.
Sancho hit back at his manager on social media and has not played for Manchester United since.
Asked why the two forwards have been treated somewhat differently, Ten Hag said: ‘We can sort out everything internally. Jadon chose to go public.’
A statement from Manchester United on Monday read: ‘Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed.’
Ten Hag added at a press conference: ‘As I said, he has taken responsibility. Case closed.’
The Red Devils boss did reiterate that it is unacceptable behaviour from Rashford, though, saying professionals at the highest level must be disciplined at all times.
‘We are talking about top football players. I don’t have to educate them any more. When you are playing for Man United, they should know,’ he said.
‘First of all, the players at this level need to manage themselves, that is what you can demand from the player. The player has to know what is good and not good. When you want to play top football, it demands a certain way of life. Always.’
The Red Devils go to Molineux on Thursday sitting ninth in the Premier League table, knowing they could climb to seventh with a win, but slip to 10th with a defeat.
