Rafa Benitez has tipped his former Club, Liverpool to still finish within the first four teams in the Premier League despite their sluggish start to the season.
Liverpool have started the season very poorly and are currently ninth in the table, eight points behind fourth-placed
Newcastle United.
The Reds shockingly fell 2-1 to Leeds United in the Premier League on Sunday, ending their long unbeaten record at Anfield.
However, Benitez still sees Liverpool finishing top four, insisting that Jurgen Klopp’s side have been unlucky with injuries.
“I am not as pessimistic about their prospects as everyone else. This is not a normal season,” he told The Times.
“They have had injuries, the World Cup is a distraction, but they remain a very strong team.
“I am sure they will recover and get into the top four in the Premier League, and we know from their performances in recent seasons how they can go far in European competitions.”
