Scotland legends Alan McCoist and Alan Brazil have sprung to the defence of newly signed Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland.
This was after the former Borussia Dortmund star was questioned by a former striker, Sergio Aguero.
Aguero appeared to criticize Haaland’s performance against Liverpool in the Community Shield last weekend.
Aguero said Haaland is too used to Germany after the Norway international failed to find the back of the net as Man City lost 3-1 to Liverpool at the King Power Stadium.
Haaland missed a couple of chances before a glaring one with a minute left in the encounter as three goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 22-year-old also struggled to compete against Liverpool’s centre-backs Joel Matip and Virgil Van Dijk.
McCoist told talkSPORT Breakfast: “He might go through a wee barren spell but I can’t see him not scoring goals.
“Physically, he’s a specimen. He’s aggressive, so he’ll handle the physical side. I certainly think he’s quick enough.
“There will be a period where his teammates get to know his game. But I would be staggered if he doesn’t score goals.
“He looks like the finished article, he looks top class.”
Brazil added: “Once he gets a couple of goals, there will be no stopping him.
“He has to get the right service but he’s going to get chances, City batter teams with their football.
“He’s got to score 20 goals.”
