Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has predicted that interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, will have a big influence on the club.
Rooney also delivered his verdict on the caretaker manager, Michael Carrick, ahead of Man United’s Premier League clash with Arsenal on Thursday night.
Recall that Rangnick’s visa application was approved on Thursday and he will watch from the stands as Man United face Arsenal at Old Trafford tonight.
The 63-year-old will then take charge himself, with his first match at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday.
But Rooney, who is currently the head coach of Derby County, is supportive of the German’s appointment at his old club.
“Definitely right call for Michael [Carrick] to take the game and Ralf in charge for Sunday,” Rooney said at his pre-match press conference ahead of Derby County’s weekend ga
me with Bristol City.
“Hopefully, he does very well. He comes with a good pedigree. Hopefully, he can have a big influence on the club.”
