Everton manager Frank Lampard has revealed why he spent most of playing career at Chelsea.
The former Chelsea captain spent 13 seasons at Stamford Bridge and became the most successful player in the club’s 109 years.
He won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, the League Cup twice, Europa League and the Champions League with the West London Blues.
The Everton boss appeared before the press on Friday ahead of their Premier League game on Boxing Day.
He said that happiness kept him at Stamford Bridge while warning off his former club and Manchester United who are interested in goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
He is adamant the Merseyside club can match the ambition of England goalkeeper.
Both United and Chelsea have been linked with moves for the former Sunderland star but Lampard insists Pickford has all he needs at Everton to enjoy a fulfilling career.
“Jordan feels very happy at this club. That’s the impression I get,” he said.
“Maybe I was fortunate to play Champions League a lot but when I felt comfortable at a club I came in with a smile on my face every day and I looked forward to every game and if Jordan feels like that and we can match each other’s ambitions, I don’t see that as a problem.”
