Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag, has suggested the club’s recent trophy success means only Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has been a superior coach in England since his arrival.
The former Ajax coach, who joined the club on July 22, has won two trophies since his arrival.
However, the Dutchman defiantly defended his record as the head coach at Old Trafford.
He said via The Sunday Times, “Of course [I feel stronger]. Before my arrival, this club did not win trophies for six years.
“In two years, behind Guardiola, we won the most trophies in English football, we are therefore in a position of strength.”
The Red Devils won the Carabao Cup when the Dutchman first arrived from Ajax.
And United defeated Manchester City 2-1 in last season’s FA Cup final to win the trophy.
