Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has insisted that his former boss at Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, approved the exits of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Jesus and Zinchenko left the Etihad in the summer to sign for the Gunners.

Both players have contributed to Arsenal’s impressive campaign, which sees them sit top of the Premier League, five points clear of City.

On Wednesday, Arteta was asked how Guardiola reacted to Arsenal signing the two players.

“That was done in a really nice way between the clubs, and especially between us [him and Guardiola] because you have to do that respectfully.

“It was agreed by everybody,” Arteta told reporters.
