Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has singled out defender Riccardo Calafiori for praise following the Gunners’ Premier League 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.
Arteta said the Italy international was ‘great’ against Pep Guardiola’s men at the Etihad Stadium.
Calafiori scored Arsenal’s first goal against Man City, cancelling Erling Haaland’s early goal.
Gabriel Magalhães and John Stones also scored during the encounter.
Speaking at his post-match interview, Arteta said: “He was great. To have the debut in this context chapeau. He’s got so much character. Really impressed with that.”
