Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, was quick to point out that Arsenal have one game in hand when asked about overtaking the league leaders on Wednesday.
The champions moved within three points of the Gunners with a 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Sunday.
If they defeat Mikel Arteta’s men at the Emirates, City will go top on goal difference.
But Arsenal would have played one game less.
“Arsenal have a game in hand. We will see after all the games when the Premier League is finished.
“But we are going to London to try and get a win.
“When one team has made 50 points in the first leg it is because they are very good. We closed the gap today because the performance from the team was really really good,” Guardiola told the BBC.
