Chelsea manager, Graham Potter, is set to avoid the sack this season after a key meeting with co-owner Behdad Eghbali, the UK Metro reports.
Potter only took over after Thomas Tuchel was dismissed in September.
The former Brighton boss got off to a great start with a nine-game unbeaten run across the Premier League and Champions League.
But Chelsea’s form dipped near the end of October, with the Blues getting hammered 4-1 by Brighton 4-1 before a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.
Potter’s men then crashed out of the Carabao Cup with a 2-0 loss to Manchester City and then lost 1-0 to Newcastle United.
The poor run heaped pressure on Potter, as the Blues slumped to eighth place on the table before the World Cup.
Chelsea face Bournemouth on Tuesday as the league resumes.
The club had a reputation of being ruthless with managers under former owner Roman Abramovich but with Todd Boehly’s takeover in the summer, the club is looking to change its approach and wants to give Potter time to settle in the role.
Potter flew out to California to meet Eghbali during the World Cup and has been assured that his long-term future is secure.
