Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has said that he agrees with Mikel Arteta that Ethan Pinnock was in an offside position when the ball that resulted in their equaliser was played.
Frank, however, argued that he also is in line with the referee and VAR that Ethan did not influence the play.
Arteta had accused match officials in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Brentford of ‘changing the rules’.
According to Arteta, Brentford’s equaliser should have been ruled out for offside.
Ivan Toney’s header cancelled out Leandro Trossard’s opener as Brentford shared the point with the league leaders.
Speaking about the controversial offside call, Frank said: “I agree that when they kicked the ball, Ethan was in an offside position.
“Then as far as I know the football laws, the next question is did he influence the cross? They decided it was not enough and I agree.”
