The Premier League enters Game Week 23 this weekend with a couple of interesting fixtures.
It begins with back-to-back London Derbies.
Chelsea, who are struggling to stay in the top half of the table, are away to West Ham.
League leaders, Arsenal will be hoping to return to winning ways, as they welcome in-form Brentford to the Emirates.
But what 4 games can we expect shock results?
1. West Ham vs Chelsea: This game at the London Stadium will see two teams that are in desperate need of points to climb up the table for different reasons. Chelsea are outside the places that will see them qualify for European competitions, while West Ham are barely out of the shadows of a relegation fight. The Blues’ form has been very shaky ever since Graham Potter took over. And if they are not up for it, the Hammers will take points off them.
2. Leeds vs Man Utd: These two rivals already played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at Old Trafford earlier this week. Leeds United could have easily left the Theatre of Dreams with maximum points if they had more composure in both boxes. The reverse fixture promises to be just as exciting. United were exposed through the middle with Casemiro suspended and could pay for it at Elland Road.
3. Man City vs Aston Villa: What a week it has been for the Premier League champions. In the last six or seven days, Manchester City have been rocked to its core. First, was the 1-0 defeat at Tottenham – a result that saw Pep Guardiola’s men fail to close the gap between them and Arsenal to two points. Then came the big one – the Premier League slamming over 100 charges on them for breaching financial rules. It has led to talk of points deduction, heavy fine or even relegation. Unai Emery’s men will prove a test of City’s mental resolve when they show up at the Etihad on Sunday.
4. Liverpool vs Everton: Everton pulled off one of the results of the campaign when they beat Arsenal 1-0 at Goodison Park. It was a performance that showed grit, passion and unity. On the same weekend, their Merseyside rivals were thrashed 3-0 by relegation battling Wolves. This Derby at Anfield on Monday, will show much superiority Liverpool still have over the Toffees even at their lowest. Or how much Sean Dyche has galvanized Everton as they strive to escape the drop.
