England have kept their hopes of a Six Nations triumph alive, if only for a few hours, with a demolition job on Wales in Cardiff.

The Red Roses scored an incredible 10 tries in a record-breaking 68-14 win over Wales and now occupy first place on the final day of the competition.

But England need an almighty favour from old foes Scotland who take on France in the final game tonight on Super Saturday.

A French victory will see them leapfrog England and claim their first title since 2022.

If France fail to beat Scotland, or score fewer than four tries in a draw then England will be crowned champions for the first time in five years.

For now, Steve Borthwick’s side have done all they can with a ruthless display at the Principality Stadium.

They will now watch the France vs Scotland game from the team hotel, hoping to return to the pitch later tonight to lift the trophy should things go their way.

Defending champions Ireland kept the heat on both England and France with their victory over Italy in the day’s early kick-off but will now settle for third place.

Wales, dismal in front of their own fans, were condemned to a second successive wooden spoon and 17th Test defeat in a row – a record for a tier one nation in the professional era.
