Ember months: Adamawa CP deploys Police operatives against criminals

The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, CP Dankwambo Morris, has deployed additional operatives to communities across the state in a special exercise to curtail rising crime in the ember months.

The commissioner ordered the deployment of operatives of the state Command drawn from the Special Rapid Response Team, Crack Squad, Anti-Shilla and Narcotics squads to carry out a tactical and intelligence-driven 24/7 raids against all violent crimes.

The move is designed as a total clamp down on people breaking the laws of the land as the nation moves deeper into the months leading to December when crimes typically rise.

This is according to a statement released Monday morning by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje.

“These deployments will surely assist in coordinating timely response to distress calls and to clamp down on those found committing crimes for the law to take its course,” the statement explained.

It said the CP has equally directed divisional police officers and area commanders to personally lead the operations in their respective areas of responsibility to ensure total domination of the public space especially at nights.

“The CP while re-emphasizing the firm determination of the Command in ensuring safety of lives and property, seeks full cooperation from members of the public to report any suspicious characters around their neighborhood to the nearest police station,” the statement said.
