The conferment of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) on Olukayode Ajulo and 57 others will further enrich the inner bar and ultimately the dispensation of justice in Nigeria.
This is according to an Abuja-based human rights lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi.
In a statement on Thursday, Olajengbesi hailed the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) for the crop of lawyers elevated, saying,
“When the (LPPC) released the names of 69 shortlisted candidates for the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria back in September, there was no doubt that lawyers of repute will make the final list and be conferred with the prestigious title”.
Recall that the LPPC under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kayode Ariwoola, at its 159th session on Thursday, approved the elevation of 58 lawyers to the rank of Senior Advocates of Nigeria.
The approved candidates were drawn from 69 shortlisted individuals and the swearing in ceremony of the 58 successful candidates is scheduled to take place on November 27, 2023.
Olajengbesi said the legal profession is proud of the lawyers for their noble contributions to governance and democracy in Nigeria.
